The Café is at street level overlooking Portage Bay. The Paddle Club is below at waterside (the entrance is down the stairs on the west side of building).
By Bike
- From the Burke-Gilman trail:
Leave the trail onto either Brooklyn Ave or 15th St and head south 2 blocks until you reach Boat Street and Agua Verde. The bike rack is located to the west of the Café.
By Boat (small, motorized runabouts)

We are located on the north shore of Portage Bay between the University and Montlake bridges. We have two 25' slips at the north end of the marina. Restaurant moorage is clearly marked in Boat Street Marina and is intended for small runabouts-no deep keels! Do not tie up in private or common moorage spaces.

Public access for hand powered boats is located at the east end of Boat Street Marina.
By Car
- From I-5 north or south:
Take the NE 45th St exit. At the light turn east towards the University of Washington. (Coming from I-5 south this is a right turn; coming from I-5 north, this is a left turn.) Follow 45th a few blocks until you reach Brooklyn Ave and turn right. Head south on Brooklyn until it ends at Boat Street. You should see Agua Verde (green building) at the T-intersection.
- From westbound SR 520:
Take the Montlake Blvd exit. Get in the left lane. Go across the bridge and take a left onto Pacific Ave at the light. Stay in the left lane and at the 15th Ave light turn left. Agua Verde is one block south and to the right.

Parking
Guest parking is available in the lower Boat Street Marina pay lot East of the Café. It is the closest parking to the Paddle Club and the cafe's Outdoor Tented Pavilion.
The gravel lot across the street from the Café is free, but only available after 4:00pm Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday (except Husky game days).
There is an additional pay lot one (long) block west of Agua Verde on the corner of Pacific and Boat Streets.
Metered street parking is also available Monday through Saturday; it's free after 6:00 pm and all day on Sunday.
We strongly urge carpooling and alternative modes of transportation when possible.
