Set on Portage Bay, the Paddle Club sits directly across from eclectic houseboats and inbetween the two most popular paddling destinations in Seattle: Lake Union and Lake Washington. For an urban paddling experience head west and find a stunning view of the Seattle skyline. You'll float past eclectic houseboats, crew houses, and city marinas. Head towards Gas Works Park, past Fremont and up to the Ballard locks or circum-navigate Lake Union for a closer view of the city. To the east you can experience nature in the city; paddle through the Mountlake Cut and into the Arboretum. You can wander the water trails around Foster Island, paddle through lily pads and under footbridges. You may catch a glimpse of resident and migratory birds such as Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Coots, Wood Ducks and Grebes. Keep an eye out for beavers and muskrats!
A few things to keep in mind: You must be 18 years or older to rent. However, minors can paddle with a parent or guardian. Kayaks must be launched from our docks and we do not offer overnight rentals. Also, please leave the pets at home for your safety and theirs. We sometimes close the Paddle Club early if weather is bad or unsafe. Please call if you are wondering whether we are still renting.
Our number is 206-545-8570. Also check our FAQ page for additional information about weather.
