Paddle Club FAQ

  • When are you open?
As the Paddle Club hours change month to month and season to season, please check the hours page or our hours PDF.

  • Do you rent kayaks on rainy days?
Yes!  You can paddle in any weather.  In fact the best kayaking conditions often occur in light rain or under cloudy skies.  Please note, however, that our hours of operation are susceptible to change if business becomes slow.  So if the weather is bad, please call before you come.   Our number is 206-545-8570 ext. 23.

  • Do you take reservations?
We do not take reservations for singles or small groups (1 - 11 people).   Kayaks are rented by the hour on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Just come on in!  We do have limited reservation options for groups of 12 - 25 people.   We are a small operation and can only accommodate one group reservation per day.  So, please read and fill out our online reservation form.  Then contact us to check availability on your desired dates.

  • Can I bring small children kayaking with me?
We can accommodate small children, but we need to do so safely.  We provide special paddles and life jackets for little ones.  Kids must share a double kayak with an adult 18 years or older. If you are thinking of bringing an infant, please make sure you have two adults in the boat. You must be 18 or over to rent a single boat.

  • Do I need any experience?
Absolutely not.  Agua Verde is a great place to learn - we rent to kayakers of any level.  We have a variety of boats that suit a range of individuals, from first-time paddlers to advanced individuals.

  • What should I wear?  What should I bring?
Wear clothing that would be appropriate for any outdoor activity, such as hiking or biking.  On cooler days, layers such as a fleece jacket or an extra sweatshirt are a good idea.  Also, make sure that whatever you wear will remain comfortable if it is splashed with water. We will provide paddles, life jackets, and spray skirts.  Depending on the length of your trip, snacks and drinks may be a good idea.  Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats are great for sunny days.  We always recommend that you carry a bottle of water or two with you.

  • Do you allow pets?
For your safety and theirs, we do not allow pets in the kayaks or left on premises.

  • Can I take boats out overnight?
NO Take Away or Overnight Rentals  Sorry, we do not rent boats for overnight trips.  However if you would like to experience the water after hours, we can design a guided full moon or sunset tour.  Please contact the Paddle Club to make a tour reservation.

  • Will I get wet?
Since this is a water sport, there is a good chance you will get wet!  However, it really depends on the conditions and your chosen route.   You can even choose to swim if the weather is nice.  It is all part of the paddling experience.
